Building a better world for all.

MCG embraces a team spirit of mutual respect and inclusivity. We use our extensive expertise and experience in diversity contracting to expand opportunities for minority-owned firms and change future generations. We construct beautiful buildings and through our work change peoples’ lives—we are committed to creating unique spaces where all people can live and thrive.

Authentic Relationships.

We believe in open and transparent communication in which all parties – the client, stakeholders, design team and subs – are treated as one team, with one common goal – to create an exceptional project on time and within budget. As hands-on experts, we work hard to gain the trust of the entire team, ensuring everyone has the same goal – delivering an exceptional building that exceeds the owner’s expectations and in which all stakeholders can take pride. This is especially important for public projects, where the use of taxpayer monies and project outcomes are carefully scrutinized.

A History of Mentorship.

Firm owner Angela Smith has a history of providing mentorship and assisting women, people of color, small businesses, and subcontractors in enhancing their business skills. This includes providing advice and training on networking, performing administrative tasks, honing the skills of a particular trade, writing business correspondence, accurate estimating, how to invoice and use pay applications, and generally how to run a successful small business in the construction industry. Angela, herself, has been mentored by larger organizations, and share this knowledge with her teams and subcontractors.

Peer Collaboration.

We pride ourselves on collaboration with GCs, Owners, and Government Agencies to foster successful COBID participation and mentorship. This is in our DNA. As a COBID firm ourselves, we put a high priority on our mutual success. We understand this contributes to the health and success of our community, as well as the economy as a whole. It is part of our mission and supports social justice and the greater good.

Sustainability & Social Justice.

As members of the A/E/C community, we are highly aware of the impacts construction projects can have on the environment and climate change. We promote effective recycling of construction materials and donations to organizations such as the Rebuilding Center. We strive to use environmentally friendly and non-toxic, low-VOC building materials in our projects. Our print materials are printed double-sided, using multi-use, FSC, 100% post-consumer fiber, made-in-the-USA recycled paper.

We endorse and practice the principles of equal opportunity employment, and are committed to transparency, diversity and inclusion in both procurement and daily operations. We provide a supportive work environment with living wages and salaries determined by current market rates. We mentor our staff and subcontractors, providing access to trainings that help enhance their professional knowledge and career path in the construction field.
